HOW TO BECOME A CHRISTIAN |
BECOME A CHRISTIAN?
Why not? Reality. Read. Reflect. Reason. Think. Believe.
Why do you exist? What is the Truth? Why hope?
Doubter? Restless? What if the Word is the Truth?
Can you create yourself ? How did life really start?
Do you want a teacher, or THE Teacher and a way to discover Love and Hope?
Still not sure?
Too busy to read the Holy Bible, but want to get the basic facts you need to know?
Why not take several minutes now to read this web page, check out the message links, and then decide for yourself what you are going to do next?
Caution: Before I start, let me acknowledge that many people love to argue about this topic, and many times the nuances of language, culture and understanding of the meaning of words lead to division. Indeed, so much division can occur that some lose sight of the basic facts. So let us seek the facts.
REALITY CHECK
The oldest written (records) of the scriptures that are compiled in the Holy Bible are not expressed in English. The English language is not constant or consistent over time, and meanings of words can be confusing. Indeed, one source on cTc.tv provides immediate access to each verse in the Holy Bible in thirty (30) different English translations (for example, click here).
The impact of so many translations is that each reader can easily get focused on the words and lose sight of the message* delivered by the words. Hence, if you feel challenged by the Holy Bible information and references that follow, have some fun and read the key passages using the same free resource identified in the prior paragraph (quick links provided below).
What follows reflects what a majority of those who spend their lifetime seeking to understand reality, reading, reflecting, reasoning and thinking for themselves about what they can learn from the Holy Bible, and then becoming firm in their belief. Most have also very carefully studied other recorded history of those same time periods and have come to understand the validity of the records in the Holy Bible. This for many is a process that started once they took the following steps, which is a new beginning, not the end. Are you ready to take the first step?
HOW TO BECOME A CHRISTIAN -- A FOLLOWER OF JESUS CHRIST
The good news is that genuine hope is in Jesus Christ. That is the reason that http://ctc.tv exists. We’re here is to tell you about Him.
Everything we do and the reason we exist in the first place, is because of God’s gift of forgiveness through his son Jesus. More than anything else, we want you to know that God loves you and has a plan for your life!
Many spend their lives trying to earn God’s approval by following rules, attending religious services, or being a good person; the truth is that the only way to a fulfilling life and an eternal future in heaven is through a relationship with Jesus Christ.
To become a Christian, you will want to know the following basic facts from the Holy Bible. To help you grasp the thoughts, if you click on each referenced passage, it will take you immediately to the 30 English translations of that verse. Read. Reflect. Reason. Think. Believe and the accept the Truth behind those words.
1) God loves you.
Because of God’s love for all persons, He desires that you have unbroken fellowship with Him. (John 3:16; Ephesians 2:4-5)

2) You are a sinner.
All persons are “sinners” in that they disobey God. Sin is choosing to go your own way and do your own thing as opposed to being obedient to God. (Isaiah 53:6; Romans 3:10)

3) Sin separates you from God.
Sin forms a barrier that prevents you from entering into unbroken fellowship with God, Who is holy. As an unholy sinner, you can’t have fellowship with God. You are headed for a Christless eternity that the Bible calls Hell. (Isaiah 59:2; Romans 3:23)

4) You can’t save yourself.
People often think that through their efforts they can overcome the sin barrier between themselves and God. That isn’t true. There’s nothing you can do to restore the broken relationship with God. You can’t earn God’s salvation. (Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5; Romans 4:4-5)

5) God sent His son Jesus to remove the sin barrier.
What you cannot do for yourself, Jesus Christ has done for you! Your sin is a barrier between you and God. But the Good News is that Jesus died on the cross for you and then rose from the dead to demonstrate that His payment was acceptable to God. By taking your punishment on Himself, Jesus made a way for relationship with God. (1 Peter 2:23; Romans 5:8; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Romans 10:9)

6) You can receive Jesus Christ through faith.
Faith is trusting in what Jesus has done for you rather than trusting your own efforts to restore fellowship with God. Faith is complete reliance on Christ to put you in right relationship with God, allowing Him to live His life through you. Faith also involves repentance or genuine sorrow for sin and willingness to turn away from sin. (John 14:6; Acts 16:31; Romans 10:9-10)

7) Through prayer you can trust in Jesus Christ.
Admit to God that you are a sinner. Express sorrow or repentance for your sinfulness. Ask Him to forgive your sins. Invite Jesus into your life as Savior and Lord. Commit yourself to live for Him.
(What is prayer? It is you talking with God, your father in Heaven. He loves you, so talk with Him as someone you love.
Not sure how to pray. Why not praise Him, acknowledge your sins, thank Him for His forgiveness, and ask Him for His Wisdom as you make your choices in your life.
Key words: Praise, Acknowledge, Thank, Help. Memory aide: PATH)
WHAT TO DO NEXT?
If you just prayed to receive Christ for the first time, please add this web site to your favorite places! We would love to help you grow, because accepting Christ is just the beginning of an awesome life-long journey!
STILL NOT SURE?
Why not consider this: A Christian is a follower of Jesus Christ. As a follower, the Christian has a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. This means trying to obey Him in all things, and drawing on His strength when faced with problems.
Why not set a goal for yourself to read the Holy Bible from cover to cover, just like you tend to read most any great book -- then have the joy of a greater understanding. God created us for Himself and our souls are restless until they find rest in Him. Only God can fill the void in your life. The answer to your search is accepting Jesus Christ as the Lord and ultimate Savior of your life.
Accepting Jesus Christ is the beginning. Seek to be obedient to His teachings and connect with other Christians.
How can you do this? Jesus himself was baptized, so why not understand the meaning of baptism and take that step? The choice is yours to make when you are personally ready.
As you take these steps, you will find that life truly does have purpose and meaning -- and no matter what, always be joyful as you celebrate your new life of faith, hope, and love.
WHY LOOK AT SO MANY TRANSLATIONS OF THE HOLY BIBLE?
Organized and institutional religion has a strong tendency to select and focus on one translation, and build their cultural organization or denominational belief accordingly. But your faith is much better than belief, because belief is when someone else does the thinking. Think, and then pray to God, the father of Jesus Christ for your own better understanding. If you are free to do so, why not link up with other Christians as you learn, grow and live in your faith?
