HOW TO START A HOUSE CHURCH
The starting place is the Holy Bible. It is at the root of all meaningful guidance.
One initial aspect is to understand the organization and language that is used. Another key aspect is to understand "organizational culture" and to seek "how to" wisdom for those in leadership, and for those who are led.
So far we have found two resources that are independent of denominational or institutional influence (as best as we can tell). They are listed below. Both are provided free by authors who hope that these insights will be helpful -- and if you like their work, that you might buy books they have authored.
How to Organize a Church: The New Testament Church, by Simon Harding.
This resource provides identification of 64 specific key passages in the New Testament that relate directly to the objective.
How can you use this? Why not read each of the passages in the Holy Bible for yourself, and pray for guidance from the Lord. Let Him work in you and through you in accord with His will.
Simon Harding has done the hard work of organizing the information in a very brief format. To use it, just copy and paste this link in your browser:

Organizational Culture: "How To" Leadership Insights for a House Church.
Establishing and understanding the organizational culture is essential for the leaders who champion the initiation and development of a house church. Quite simply, organizational culture is "how we do things here."
The experience of others may be sought (Proverbs 15:22). One that has shown the ability to bring clarity to this is Ron McKenzie. In his own words, "Ron McKenzie is a Christian writer living in Christchurch, New Zealand. During the 1980s he served as the pastor of a church, but found that he could not manage to do everything that Jesus did. He is now employed as an economist and writes in his spare time. He is married with three adult children."
His web site has several very useful pages with clear language and helpful illustrations. A good place to start is to copy and paste the following link into your Internet browser -- and then take the time to surf the related web pages:

READY TO START A HOUSE CHURCH!

Note from Christians that care:
This is an effort to develop a perspective on house churches (not the same as small groups), with the challenge of starting house churches with only an audible copy of the New Testament in your language (see Gems pages for resource links) and no other pre-established organized religion behind the effort, i.e. in accord with the mission of cTc.tv to reach the otherwise unreachable lost with a non-traditional outreach model by positioning on the Internet for the curious with a focus on the geo parts of the planet earth where human missionaries are still a rarity.
Technology is advancing into many regions ahead of the Gospel (for example, read Internet rolls into Bangladesh villages on a bike. http://apnews.myway.com/article/20121101/DA292U480.html).
If you wish to hear worship service messages by the religious leaders from a carefully selected variety of Christian churches, simply click on the maps for Richmond, Virginia or Rochester, New York, USA, and surf the web sites of most of those churches for audio recordings of recent messages. Why not sample one a week and by the end of the year you will have been a virtual visitor to 52 different churches! If one really catches your ear, put it in your favorite places for future use -- it is that easy. In a real hurry? See a sample at: http://www.youtube.com/user/atleechurch?feature=watch
The vision is to encourage users of cTc.tv resources to plant the Gospel (not the same as planting a church), and if it takes root, let the reader/listener be guided by the Holy Spirit to grow a house church or local church. If it is our Lord's will, then this half a mustard seed will continue to expand and develop. If not our Lord's will, let it land on a dry rock and blow away fast.
P. S. Why is cTc.tv doing this? We like the idea of removing all barriers to sharing all that was placed here by our Lord God in the first place. The flood of key words and millions of web sites on the key topic of this web site can make it hard to find the resources that have been tabulated herein (cTc.tv) for your convenience and use. You have found cTc.tv, and you are encouraged to put it in your favorite places right now for future use.
Please encourage your church website master to save time and effort by adding a link from your website to this web site to help it spread the Word and Truth around the globe.
The only things we ask of you are your prayers that this free service may grow and be used by more individuals each day than the day before. May the Grace of the Lord our God be with you and yours. |
Web Page Content Request:
More guidance on this is being sought from Christians that care who have more extensive experience on this objective, so please pray that they come forth and freely share their insights with you and the otherwise unreachable through the unique reach of cTc.tv
